Taiwan to Host the 3rd International Nanotechnology Olympiad

The third edition of the International Nanotechnology Olympiad (INO) will be held from December 12 to 18, 2026, in Taiwan. The main theme of this scientific event is “Nano-biotechnology and Health,” with a focus on the application of nanotechnology in medicine, biotechnology, and intelligent data analysis.

According to this Report, the core topics include the development of nano-based systems for drug delivery and control, nano-sensing and diagnostic technologies, the use of nanomaterials in medical devices and tissue engineering, and nanobiotechnology for sustainable health. In addition, nano-biomimetic technologies in medicine and the integration of nanobiotechnology with artificial intelligence and big data are among the key research areas to be highlighted.

The International Nanotechnology Olympiad is a scientific competition among academic and research teams from various countries, aiming to promote innovative ideas and technological solutions in the field of nanoscience. The Olympiad serves as a platform for collaboration among young researchers and provides an opportunity for scientific synergy and international exchange across interdisciplinary fields.

As the host of the third edition, Taiwan emphasizes the role of nanotechnology in advancing human health and fostering medical innovation. The first two Olympiads were held in Iran and Malaysia, both receiving strong participation from universities and research institutes. The 2026 edition is expected to bring together teams from multiple countries and showcase interdisciplinary projects that will help shape the future of nanobiotechnology.
