Launch of Collaboration Between INN and CHTM

The Inter-Islamic Network on Nano-Technology (INN) and Iran Council for the Development of Herbal and Traditional Medicine (CHTM) Reach an Understanding to Expand Infrastructure and Operational Cooperation

According to the Public Relations, the adoption of the academic super-application Acalearn by CHTM, along with the implementation of joint research programs and pharmaceutical trials, will form part of this new phase of cooperation. The Council’s Secretariat will also launch its official page on AcaLearn. This super-application is a knowledge-based product developed by ISMI, which is a member of INN and an incubated company at Iran’s MERC.

Another key focus of the meeting was to examine the operational mechanisms required to expand bilateral cooperation. During discussions between Dr. Ali Karimi Morid, Executive Strategic Deputy of INN, and Dr. Damoon Razmjooei, Secretary of CHTM, the two sides reached consensus on the way forward.

According to the report, CHTM is a strategic body affiliated with the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology, and the Knowledge-Based Economy. Its mandate includes policymaking, synergy-building, and guiding projects and programs related to medicinal plants and traditional medicine. By supporting elite experts and researchers, developing infrastructure, facilitating commercialization, and strengthening the value chain, the Council plays a key role in advancing the traditional medicine economy in Iran. It also contributes to the development of modern technologies in processing, production, registration, and preservation of native species, promoting preventative health approaches, and positioning Iran as a regional leader in herbal products and services.

Notably, the INN Network is an international platform for leveraging the power of science and technology to support inclusive empowerment. The Network strives to provide a dynamic platform for countries to achieve growth, progress, and a knowledge-based economy by fostering collaboration between elites, professors, researchers, universities, research institutes, and knowledge-based companies.

This international platform is one of the thirteen scientific networks affiliated with COMSTECH, and it is hosted by the MERC under the MSRT of Iran.
