New Steps in the Collaboration Between INN and INIC

The Inter-Islamic Network on Nano-Technology (INN) and Iran Nanotechnology Innovation Council (INIC) Reach Agreement to Expand Infrastructure and Operational Cooperation

According to the Public Relations, the use of the academic super-application Acalearn by INIC and the joint organization of international nanotechnology Olympiads for university and school students will be part of this new phase of cooperation. INIC’s Secretariat will also launch its official page on Acalearn. This super-application is a knowledge-based achievement of the Islamic Strategic Management Institute, which is a member of INN and an incubator unit at Iran’s MERC.

Another agenda item of the meeting was reviewing the operational mechanisms for expanding bilateral cooperation, which was agreed upon during discussions between Dr. Abolhassan Imani, Secretary of INN; Dr. Ali Karimi Morid, Executive Strategic Deputy of INN; and Dr. Afshin Ramzi, Deputy for International Affairs at INIC.

According to the report, this new process of bilateral cooperation was initially initiated during the visit of Dr. Emad Ahmadvand, Secretary of INIC, to INN’s booth at the 16th Iran Nanotechnology Exhibition. At the event, he emphasized INIC’s intention to accelerate the implementation of the joint cooperation agreement, particularly by creating synergy in infrastructure development and INN’s new programs.

INIC operates as a strategic institution under the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy. It is responsible for policymaking, coordination, and guiding projects and programs in the fields of nano, micro, and advanced technologies. By supporting elites and researchers, developing laboratory infrastructure, facilitating commercialization, and expanding international collaboration, INIC plays a key role in advancing Iran’s technology-based economy and strengthening the country’s technological capabilities.

Notably, the INN Network is an international platform for leveraging the power of science and technology to support inclusive empowerment. The Network strives to provide a dynamic platform for countries to achieve growth, progress, and a knowledge-based economy by fostering collaboration between elites, professors, researchers, universities, research institutes, and knowledge-based companies.

This international platform is one of the thirteen scientific networks affiliated with COMSTECH, and it is hosted by the MERC under the MSRT of Iran.
