Signing of a Tripartite Memorandum of Understanding among Three COMSTECH Affiliated Networks

Three COMSTECH affiliated networks, the Inter-Islamic Network on Nanotechnology (INN), the Inter-Islamic Network on Virtual Universities (CINVU), and the Inter-Islamic Network on Science and Technology Parks (INSTP), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at expanding educational, research, and innovation-based cooperation.

According to the Public Relations, This Memorandum of Understanding, endorsed under the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), seeks to strengthen scholarly collaboration among member states, conduct joint training and research programs, establish a joint executive committee, and promote the commercialization of knowledge-based achievements.

Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, the Coordinator General of COMSTECH, who attended the meeting virtually, expressed appreciation for the proactive engagement of the three Iran-based networks and called for the continued support of Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) for their activities. He emphasized that such cooperation can contribute to greater unity among OIC member states and encouraged the networks based in Iran to provide technology-driven and knowledge-based assistance to member countries, particularly those less developed.

According to the report, the event was hosted by the Central Organization of Payame Noor University of Iran and attended by senior representatives of the Inter-Islamic Network on Nanotechnology, the Inter-Islamic Network on Virtual Universities, the Inter-Islamic Network on Science and Technology Parks, as well as officials from Iran’s Ministry of Science, Research and Technology. The meeting concluded with the signing of the tripartite memorandum among the three networks.

Notably, the INN Network is an international platform for leveraging the power of science and technology to support inclusive empowerment. The Network strives to provide a dynamic platform for countries to achieve growth, progress, and a knowledge-based economy by fostering collaboration between elites, professors, researchers, universities, research institutes, and knowledge-based companies.

This international platform is one of the thirteen scientific networks affiliated with COMSTECH, and it is hosted by the MERC under the MSRT of Iran.
