A meeting to examine scientific and technological cooperation opportunities between the Materials and Energy Research Center of Iran (MERC), the International Islamic Nanotechnology Network (INN), and the ECO Science Foundation (ECOSF) was held in Iran.<\/p>\n
According to the Public Relations, at this meeting, Prof. Dr. Seyed Komeil Tayebi, President of the ECO Science Foundation, emphasized the role of science and technology in sustainable development and described cooperation with the Materials and Energy Research Center and the Nanotechnology Network in the fields of energy, water, environment, and emerging technologies as vital.<\/p>\n
Dr. Abolhassan Imani, Secretary of the Islamic World Nanotechnology Network, outlined the network’s core activities and the hosting role of the Materials and Energy Research Center in advancing its objectives. He also highlighted opportunities for developing cooperation among ECO member states in the areas of education, research, technology commercialization, and academic networking.<\/p>\n
Dr. Abouzar Massoudi, Deputy for Technology at the Research Center, elaborated on the center’s capabilities in the fields of renewable energy, solar cells, batteries, nanomaterials, ceramics, and biomaterials, and announced the development of a Science and Technology Park to support knowledge-based companies.<\/p>\n
Following this, Dr. Fatemeh Sadat Torknik, Director of Educational Affairs for the Islamic World Nanotechnology Network, presented a proposed package for educational cooperation and skills development between the network and the ECO Science Foundation. This proposal, which has been formulated based on the network’s recent experience in holding Training of Trainers (TOT) courses, is aligned with the thematic priorities of the ECO Science Foundation.<\/p>\n
The meeting concluded with the parties emphasizing the necessity of developing joint action plans, holding specialized training courses, and leveraging mutual capacities to strengthen scientific and technological interactions among ECO member states through a memorandum of understanding.<\/p>\n
Notably, the INN Network is an international platform for leveraging the power of science and technology to support inclusive empowerment. The Network strives to provide a dynamic platform for countries to achieve growth, progress, and a knowledge-based economy by fostering collaboration between elites, professors, researchers, universities, research institutes, and knowledge-based companies.\u200c<\/p>\n
