In line with expanding scientific cooperation among Islamic countries, the National University of Sciences and Technology of Pakistan has joined the Islamic Countries Nanotechnology Network.

According to the Public Relations of the INN, during a virtual meeting between Dr. Imani, Secretary of the Islamic Countries Nanotechnology Network (INN), and Professor Usman Hassan, representative of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), preliminary agreements were made for the university’s membership in the network.

Under this agreement, the National University of Sciences and Technology of Pakistan will officially become a member of the network and will also actively participate in its second General Assembly. This university is a pioneer in the field of nanotechnology in Pakistan.

During the meeting, Dr. Karimi Morid, Deputy of the Islamic Countries Nanotechnology Network, outlined the roadmap for cooperation and elaborated on the five main axes of the network’s activities. These axes are:

  • Development of scientific cooperation through specialized journals and conferences;
  • Sharing of laboratory network capabilities;
  • Support for the commercialization of knowledge-based products;
  • Development and implementation of joint educational programs;
  • Utilization of “Acalearn” academic infrastructure.

These consultations are conducted in line with the network’s overarching goals of expanding international interactions and inviting top-tier universities and scientific centers of the Islamic world to join the nanotechnology ecosystem.

Notably, the INN Network is an international platform for leveraging the power of science and technology to support inclusive empowerment. The Network strives to provide a dynamic platform for countries to achieve growth, progress, and a knowledge-based economy by fostering collaboration between elites, professors, researchers, universities, research institutes, and knowledge-based companies.‌

This international platform is one of the thirteen scientific networks affiliated with COMSTECH, and it is hosted by the MERC under the MSRT of Iran.
